Sandpoint Friendship Station
Cultivating a Community of Shared Connection, Purpose & JOY
Get to Know Us
We are creating a community where trained, dedicated and heart-felt volunteers serve as intentional, loving companions to join with our friends with memory loss and dementia.
Participants are remembered and embraced for the treasure of who they are. We provide a nurturing and engaging environment in which we connect with our innate J O Y of being.
Participants have the opportunity to socialize with others while stepping into stimulating activities, such as:
music, games, cognitive exercise, enrichment activity, arts and crafts, community projects and pet therapy.
Sandpoint Friendship Station provides a vital need of support to those in our community who are living with dementia, while offering a brief respite to their dedicated care-partners.
We offer a four-hour program currently one time weekly from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.in a safe, nurturing and loving environment.
We include a nutritious lunch during our experience shared.

Our motto: Connect To Joy

We are a Volunteer Ministry
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Sandpoint Friendship Station. They offer more than activity leadership, they cultivate relationships, offer a warm hug and conversation. Volunteers are a 'listening presence' and create an environment where every Participant feels welcome, valued and loved.
Our initial four-hour volunteer training program is informative, engaging and fun. It assists volunteers to build on their natural relational gifts and hospitality skills, adapting them to meet the unique needs of our Participants.
As a volunteer, you will become a part of creating a community of fellowship that cultivates a sense of identity, connection, security, autonomy, meaning, growth and JOY.
